31 Orchard Lane - Middlefield, Connecticut 06455 Ph. 860-349-4570
This pristine vehicle is owned by Bob Wright of Rhode Island. He purchased the vehicle in 1996 with the understanding that only Brian Chaffee would restore it for him. Brian considers this his most intensely detailed frame off restoration to date. This project took 4 years of part time, nights and weekends to complete.
The drive train consists of a 400 C.I. engine with 4-barrel Rochester carburetor, a 4-speed Munsi transmission and a Posi rear end. The only deviation from stock appearance on the entire car is the stainless steel exhaust chosen by the owner.
Body repairs consisted of the full replacement of floor pans, entire trunk floor, trunk braces, gas tank braces, fabricated inner rear wheel well sections, both rear quarters, and rear tail panel section. All top of the line PPG Global products were used on this vehicle such as; urethane grade high build primer, block sanded, sealed, base coat, and several coats of clear. The entire vehicle was then rubbed and buffed to perfection.
This vehicle includes the correct coloring of gloss/semi gloss black, to frame and chassis components. Stickers/part numbers/tags/crayon markings/inspection swatches/ have been re-created to portray every last original factory detail that would have been used back in 1967 to produce this car right off the factory production line, right down to the stripes on the drive shaft. Attention to detail covers the car from front to rear and top to bottom, with every last nut and bolt addressed.
This car was so well received when it was put on the road, it became one of the motivating factors for Brian Chaffee to open E-Muscle and offer his restoration talents and services to the public.
"I knew the car was well worth the wait when I saw that the hood closed with a click, not a slam. I use this car to cruise the coast line, and it will never be seeing any car shows. My trophies are the thumbs up I get from both the Harley bikers and the beamer drivers," says Mr. Wright, "The car is flawless."
